More Baby Steps...

Hi There!

Well, remember those orphan and crumb blocks that I was working on? The quilt that I "was" going to give to my neighbour's son? Well, after Gilbert and I had an executive meeting, he suggested that we try and sell it. Our very first quilty project, up for sale. I mean, SURE, we've sold stuff to family members but the agreed upon price, for these quilts, only covered the materials. *s*

But hey - it's "family"! What can you do, eh?

*grin*

Anyhow, the "Brown and Green" quilt is finished. I consider this a "completed" UFO (Un-Finished Object), BTW!

I'll be sewing it's label this evening.

Here's our quilt on KiJiJi.

And here it is on our

And... here's a close up of Gilbert's quilting:

And a picture of our quilt,
taken outside, this afternoon.

As for "Baby Steps"....

Well, Gilbert and I shoveled our way out, this morning and headed out to do our "Saturday Morning Errands".

I picked up 2 pieces of luggage, as Gilbert and I only had those old fashioned, vinyle suitcases with no wheels on them. Remember them?

My new luggage color is "Framboise".

(psssst.... don't tell anyone, but in English, it's just plain Raspberry. I just thought it sounded fancier that way! LOL)

They're "London Fog" bags.
Imagine MOI, with London Fog bags!!!

In the bigger bag, I got a FREE "tote". No, the tote doesn't have wheels underneath it, but it's still nice, "Framboise" color and it's a London Fog!

*VBG*

This picture seems to show it's actual color, better.

And while chatting with Elaine on the phone, she explained how I could actually STACK these bags!!! How cool is that, eh?!?!?

23 days left....

GOOD GRIEF!!!!

I just counted how many Saturdays are left -

ONLY THREE!!!!!!

I best get a move on...

*counting on my fingers*

I'll need to get my hair cut,
I'll need to get some USA money,
I'll need to pack this and that...
And OH - I CAN'T forget THIS!

Hope your Saturday's as relaxing as mine!

DJ Block and H2H Blocks

Hi There!

Well, I re-signed up, once again, with Elly's BOW (Block Of the Week) and since today IS the deadline and I hadn't made A-7 (Dad's Plaid), yet.... I really didn't have an excuse, did I?!?!?

So, my friend, Elly.... here's my A-7

Okay, remember a while back, when I was in the Heart 2 Heart Block swap?

Well, apparently, these heart blocks that were quietly languishing in a (clean) pizza box, in my closet were considered UFOs - imagine that, eh?!?!?

Sooooo, since Valentine is just around the corner and we took off our vinyl Christmas table cloth AND our kitchen table looks bare, I decided to put together a table quilt, with these hearts.

The only problem is... is that I didn't realize how MANY gorgeous hearts I had!

*VBG*

Soooo, I took out the darkest red ones. These will go into my table quilt.

"What will I do with the other ones?", you ask.

Well, if you were in that swap, you might be one of the lucky contestants to appear in my "Heart 2 Heart" quilt, that's not pieced together yet, but will be in our local quilt guilt show, in October.
(stayed tuned for more...)

For now, here's the ones that I've selected to go in our table quilt.

I'll be posting more pics, as I move along on this project. *s*

Meanwhile, I've finally finished this crumb quilt.

Gilbert has a Valentine's panel to quilt for me, first and then, he'll be doing this one.

And yes, folks, there's now THIRTY-FOUR days left, till I leave for my once in a lifetime dream vacation to Florida!!!!

(Friends + Quilting = Dream Vacation)

*VBG*

Back to work, tomorrow...

Have a great week!!!

Crumbs, Anyone?

Hi There!

Remember that bag of scrap fabrics, that I sorted out, during the past 2 days?

Well, I had forgotten that there were orphan blocks in that big bag, as well as quite a few 3 pieced blogs that Frummie had sent me, last year. *s*

Those 3 brown and beige zig-zagged blocks are my orphan blocks...

Frummie's blocks are in the centre of my other blocks (3 stipped blocks). I've log cabinned around her blocks.

I've decided to make a high school graduation quilt for my neighbour's son. He should be graduating in 2012, I believe.

*s*

(Sssssssssshhhhhh.... Elaine is the one that encouraged me to post this picture.... LOL)

I'll post a better picture when I'm further along with this quilt.... but it's unbelievable what you can do with a bunch of craps... oooh, I meant "Scraps"!

LOL
