Another UFO BItes the Dust!

 Hi There!

Yesterday morning, I finally "found" 1/2 an hour and
sewed on the label to Bonnie Hunter's "Orca Bay Mystery Quilt".

While sewing on the borders to this quilt,
I asked Gilbert if he wanted it as a lap quilt.
He quickly replied, "SURE!!!"

So, he chose the quilting pattern - "Whimsey"
and he also told me that he wanted "Minky" fabric,
on the back of the quilt,
to which I replied, "SURE!!!"

Well, Gilbert picked out the Minky fabric and
although it really doesn't match the front of the quilt....
Eh - Who cares, right?!?!?
It's HIS quilt, after all!

*grin*

BTW, we've named this quilt,
"La Minky".

And here it is,
hung over our stair railing.

It measures 75" X 81".

Yup, it's a big lap quilt
but that's what he wanted!

Besides, maybe he'll share with me,
this winter.
*s*

Have a Super Sunday!

I've decided that I'll be taking a
Vacation Day, tomorrow.

Fun in my Sewing Studio!!!

Another Quilt Bites the Dust

Hi There!

Yes, I blogged about this quilt before, but it wasn't bound and didn't have it's label.

Now, it's completely finished!!!

I first called this quilt "Happily Scrappily Red",
if you can remember.
But Gilbert decided to do a
"Popcorn" pattern on this quilt and
we've been calling her "La Popcorn".

Sooooo, "La Popcorn" it shall be.

Yeeeaaaah!!!!

Another quilt finished!

Easy Peasy - Color Me Finished!

Hi There!

Yes, I know I had this quilt under my
"Finished in 2012" list,
but I only put the label on yesterday evening.

This quilt measures 52" X 69"
and although I take outdoor pictures,
my camera doesn't seem to do justice to
the rich, vibrant colors.... unfortunately.

Off to bed!

G'nite everyone!

Moving Right Along

 Hi There!

I truly enjoy my own little quilt lists, on the right hand side of my blog.

This bed-size quilt pattern came from one of Bonnie Hunter's books.

On one of her recent quilt classes, she(?) and her students were playing with the block layouts and they made this blue heart.  Well, I fell in love with it but decided to make it in red, with a touch of black.

I finally came up with a name for this one....
"Square Heart".

Gilbert and I have been practicing making quilt labels, with our printer.

We think we finally figured it out.

And here's a close-up, of Gilbert's label.

And here's the final product.

It measures 20" X 26" and will be on our table for the month of February.

Gilbert did some custom quilting on this cutie.

Cutting differently...

Just a regular mushroom...

Gilbert cut this one differently and I thought it was rather striking..... mind you - it tasted the same but the visuals really struck me as beautiful and different.  *s*

A Spring Pick-Me-Uppper!

Hi There!

Yesterday, while getting groceries
- final Saturday errand of the day -
I decided to treat myself
and pick up this Spring Pick-Me-Upper!

Gilbert snapped a picture of me and
I decided to share it with you.

My blogging friend, Anna,
always blogs about the pretty flowers on her table.

Yes, Anna, I was thinking of you when I eyed these flowers
and thought, "Hey, why not?  Anna does it all the time!"
(or it appears as if she does..... LOL)

Gilbert has been designated as the "Flower Protector", once again.
Everyone knows that I bear the name
"She Who Kills Plants and Flowers"....
either by over-watering or forgetting about them, completely.

HEY!!!
I have many OTHER talents!!!
Just sayin....

LOL

Do you have a Spring Pick-Me-Upper?

Care to share?

Have a Super Sunday!

On my agenda, today?

The "Changing of the Bed Sheets"
Sew Studio Time.

Playing Sous-Chef with Gilbert, the Chef.

You get the picture, I'm sure...

2nd Binding Pic

I usually wind my binding on an empty thread spool, place it beside my sewing machine and let it flop and sometimes fall on the floor.

This afternoon, a lightbulb flashed in my head!

Why not place this spool on my thread holder?!?!?

Duh!!!

LOL

February e-Newsletter

Hi there!

I've been posting an e-Newsletter to our local quilty friends and thought I might share with you, what I've been writing.

Here's February's e-Newsletter:

HAPPY VALENTINES, EVERYONE!!!

Lil’ Twister:

These last couple of weeks, I’ve been surfing and drooling over the Lil’ Twister patterns. They seem to be all over the Internet! I finally broke down and ordered the Lil’ Twister ruler (small one) and the Twister ruler (big one) as well as the first book, called “Let’s Twist”, from Tina at Town and Country. She said she would gladly order more, if you give her a call.

I checked everywhere – even in Bangor – and I believe her prices are very reasonable.

You can Google Lil’ Twister and browse the Internet yourself but I thought I’d share a few links that I saved, regarding the Lil’ Twister. By the way, one lady on YouTube said that this block was so simple, it was great for Beginners. And, it looks COMPLICATED but it’s not!!! Gotta love that in a quilt! *grin*

I Googled Lil’ Twister and selected “Images” and here’s what I got:

Enough said…. I can’t WAIT for my Lil’ Twister to come in! LOL

Use your stash!!!

Got this email a while back and while “cleaning” my email box, re-read this and thought I’d share…
