Tea With Those Crumbs?

Hi There!

More pictures on that quilt that I'm working on...

Here are the 3 blocks that got me started. They were extras from a quilt kit that I had purchased eons ago.

Since I wanted to make a young man's quilt, I decided to omit, as much as possible, flowery and girly girl prints... and NO pink! *s*

My goal is to use mainly browns and greens, with a smidgeon of gold and burgundy. At least, that's what I'm "trying" to do, anyhow. *grin*

Here are the many 3 piece blocks that Frummie had sent me. They all had their selvages sewn on. Dunno why - Frummie had received these scraps of fabrics from another friend and she was just passing them on to me. Well, that worked fine for me, anyhow, since I really didn't have a pattern and I was just flying from the seat of my pants, so to speak.

I just trimmed off the selvage part and proceeded to build around these pieces.

I added extra "strips" or crumbs, to make it 12-1/2 inches.

I then worked in the other direction, to make a 12-1/2 inch square block.

Well, it's back to work tomorrow and I doubt that I'll get a chance to work on these before Saturday afternoon.

Oh... I meant to tell you. I"m calling these crumb blocks but I don't think they're really "crumbs"... more like a "strip" quilt, I guess.

Anyhow, it's an EXCELLENT way to get rid of your strips....

Have a great Tuesday!!!

Rosa
